n-gg- b-ss is a term used to describe a type of b-ss that is characterized by frequencies centered in the 50-80hz region. the b-ss is also of a high q variety and tends to linger past the initial note. this causes the infamous boominess that travels well beyond one’s car stereo (the traditional domain of n-gg- b-ss) and into surrounding vehicles. n-gg- b-ss has these characteristics because cheap low quality equipment can recreate the boominess.
in other words, n-gg- b-ss is sloppy, “one-note,” uncontrolled b-ss.
n-gg- b-ss is very common in r&b, rap, hip-hop, and some of the more recent pop music, especially the type enjoyed by preteens and tweens.
