Norn Irn
norn irn is the orginal and proper phonetic spelling of the pr-nunciation of northern ireland. a new spelling “norn iron” has emerged over the last decade or so. originally from the john pepper series of books.
“norn irn” is the local pr-nunciation of “northern ireland”, a part of the united kingdom which is on the island of ireland. it is also the pr-nunciation for the national football team.
there is only one syllable in the second word, “irn”. the extra ‘o’ in the more recent spelling indicates the presence of a second syllable.
