numberaphobia
a crippling dread of numbers which quantify the effect of a change (i.e. benefit) on a business outcome.
as this fear extends to words that can be translated to a number, this phobia can, in its purest form, lead to benefits conversations that result in nothing actually being said, and the verbal equivalent of fencing manouvers where people in autbority avoid saying anything of substance.
numberaphobia can occur in an individual, however if allowed to spread through an organisation can result in weeks and months of zero content benefit word play.
