oggin
the sea. this is uk and australian naval slang. it doesn’t usually mean the sea in general but refers to that particular part of the sea that the speaker or person referred to is close to.
i gave the can of beer to the bosun but the stupid b-st-rd tossed it into the oggin.
so there was soapy, clinging to the rope but it was just a matter of time before he fell into the oggin.
