taking a gamble on something or making a shot in the dark. pursuing or pressing on in the face of uncertainty. to act on instinct, going with one’s gut. reliance on luck or chance. not based on fact.
even though i was a stranger in a new town and did not know my way around, i followed the untrodden path on a humble.
