On The Tosh


‘on the tosh’ is a phrase used to describe being on a heavy drinking session. the term originates from the english tv police series ‘the bill’ which featured a character called ‘tosh lines’ (played by kevin lloyd). in real life kevin lloyd was a famously hard drinker, who at one point escaped from a rehabilitation clinic only to be found drinking in the pub across the road. kevin died of alcohol poisoning in may 1998.
“i’m of out on the tosh this evening with the lads, fancy coming?”

“man, i was so toshed last night i slept with a fat ginger bird with a bush like sherwood forest.”
