a word whose contemporary defintion began in the north sh-r- of sydney. ooft is used to describe a literal or metaphorical “hit below the belt” as well as a great deal of shock or surprise. ooft can be a reply to a harsh insult. it is often used upon seeing an attractive person, as it is a hit below the belt to realise one’s inferiority to said person.
