baked goods given out by a food pantry, soup kitchen, or homeless shelter. usually consists of whatever didn’t sell on the day-old-bread rack and got donated; sometimes sawed into chunks and re-bagged; always barely edible, but generally eaten anyway because you’re hungry enough not to care.
