the peta effect is when an individual or group of individuals rally for a cause that would have almost 100% support yet their toxic methodology causes so much hatred that their efforts actually become detrimental to their cause.
did you see a female politician in texas proposed a law to fine men $100 for masturbating as a way to show how absurd some proposed laws towards women are? if that is her attempt at strengthening women’s rights it is going to have the peta effect.
