phui factor
1. phui factor is a factor of safety applied to structural members. buildings commonly use a factor of safety of 2.0 for each structural member. where as when the phui factor is an applied safety factor of 8.0 for each structural member.
2. a term describing the structural capacity of a system far beyond the expected loads or actual loads.
3. the designing of an element to be more robust or extra featured than is deemed necessary for its primary application to be completed successfully.
4. to ensure a more than sufficient factor of safety, a more than sufficient functionality limit, or to overcome potential design errors that are considered acceptable for most users expectations.
