pinto and rufus
fable about two misfits that has evolved over approximately 400 years, featuring pinto, the smart one, and rufus, the dumb one. the plot is simply a mashup of aristoxenus’ “damon and pythias”, numerous of aesop’s fables, and various regional familiarities, to give each yarn a local flavor. it has been rumored that the 1994 movie “dumb and dumber” was loosely written as a pinto and rufus tale.
