stating excuses before hand. a pre-explanation of sorts, most times will be subtle and short. differs from an excuse, because it will occur before imminent failure or defeat.
brandon: “hey wanna go play some basketball”
chris: “sure, lets go”
(on the walk over)
chris: “yeah, so my wrist was acting weird yesterday”
