avoiding the important task at hand by instead doing lots of other, less important tasks. misplaced motivation, mixed with procrastination, which results in a sense of accomplishment for a lot of things, except that one thing which you were meant to do.
fern sat down to do her essay, but due to procrastivation, she instead ended up applying for several jobs and cleaning out her spam email folder.
