prosumware

prosumware is derived from the latin word prosum meaning “to be useful, do good, benefit”. the difference between prosumware and “normal” malware is that prosumware’s goal is to strengthen a system’s defenses via removal of harmful viruses, and/or checking for security flaws. upon infection, it is also common for the device’s owner to be notified of the security vulnerabilities and changes that have been made to protect the device.
my router was infected with the prosumware carna virus and made it more secure.

i got infected with the prosumware reincarna virus and it closed off my telnet daemon which shouldn’t have been running anyway.
