Proximity advantage
the advantage one has in being nearby.
jane was the girlfriend of both sam and mark at different times. in both relationships she ended it. in jane’s eyes, the two are in equal standing. now that jane’s newest relationship has broken up, she wants to reconnect with one of her two former exes. mark lives two counties away while sam lives in the same apartment complex as jane. jane restarts relationship with sam because sam has the proximity advantage.
tom is an employer who is in search of an employee to start asap. there are two candidates for the position: john who is the better option but is on the other side of the world, and jesse, who is slightly less qualified but will start immediately. tom hires jesse because jesse has the proximity advantage.
