when an american idol contestant repeatedly mentions a family member or friend who is either a) dying or b) dead, in an attempt to garner sympathy from the judges, and while they’re at it, your votes.
person a: hey, didn’t katie stevens dedicate her audition to that dead friend of hers?
person b: yeah, didn’t she totally pull a gokey on the judges?
