Pushing Off
beginning the act of substance abuse. that first sip or that first hit signals the push off from the hypothetical sh-r- we call reality. the more f-cked up you get the further out you are drifting. one doesn’t know how far the current will take them out this evening or if they will even return.
“what are you doing on this fine thursday night friend?”
“i got cl-ss till 5 then pushing off, you?”
the act of “pushing” the plunger of a syringe. see also: shooting up.
we wanted to save the rest of our stash but ellie insisted on pushing off right away.
