(portuguese) it means almost the same as puta, although it is considered to be slightly less insulting. it only applies to women; the portuguese equivalent of man-wh-r-, “mulherengo”, is not considered an insult.
basically, a “putefia” is a woman of loose morals, a contemptible sl-t in the eyes of other women and/or men.
