rajawat or rajavat (in sanskrit meaning royal linage) is the name of the senior sub-clan of the kachwaha, suryavanshi rajputs. descendants of raja bhagwant das of amber, india are born by (nirwan rajput princess of khandela,srimadhopur,sikar) known as rajawats. traditionally, the rajawats are distinguished for their “right of presumptive heirship to the jaipur gaddi (throne)”, thus the maharaja of jaipur belongs to this sub-clan.
