rake monkey
an online poker player who plays a lot with the intention of generating rake for the site (income the site gets by taking a % of each pot played). these players in turn get some of their rake back through rakeback sites. this which is generally the sole source of their income because they play too many tables and aren’t very good, but make money because of the sheer volume they put in.
“this guy chiren80 is such a rake monkey, he plays way too many tables and he can’t win, but he’s making a killing off that rakeback payment every month”.
