3. a. the act of carrying off a woman.
b. rape
4.] b. the rapture (of the church, of the saints): the taking up of believers to heaven at the second coming of christ, according to some millenarian teaching
ahaha rapture hahahaha
the feeling the rest of the world has when all the self-righteous, religious fundamentalists disappear off the face of the earth at the same time.
“holy sh-t, it’s the rapture! they’re all gone! let’s party.”
the act of saying something is going to happen, even going as far as giving proof, only to have it otherwise.
loljk i pulled a rapture
near death experience; mocking the doomsday prediction of may 21, 2011
i had a total rapture the other day when i was almost hit by a car.
when jesus christ, the lord g-d almighty, comes down from heaven, and shouts with a loud voice to gather everyone ,who put their trust in him, to be with him forever and ever. amen. the dead in christ shall rise first, and then the rest of the believers on earth shall follow. when the rapture occurs, g-d will give his children a new glorious body as he wills.

the term ‘rapture’ is not used in the bible. contrary to popular beliefs, the rapture will most likely not occur june 06, 2006, because no man knows the time and the hour. everyone who says that the rapture will occur this certain time is a false prophet. jesus says he will come like a thief in the night, warning us to be ready for his coming. and, all people who truly put their trust in jesus christ will be raptured, not just the “worthy” people who think they are holy.

it’s not a question of if it’s going to happen… it’s a question of when, and are you ready for it?! to christians, this is the ultimate hope that we have, that we will be with the lord forever. words can’t describe how glorious the day will be for believers.
1 thessalonians 4 (rapture)
14for if we believe that jesus died and rose again, even so g-d will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in jesus.
15for this we say to you by the word of the lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16for the lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of g-d, and the dead in christ will rise first.
17then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the lord.
18therefore comfort one another with these words.
