1)the six month period of time that freshman (rats) at the virginia military inst-tute are not considered members of the corps of cadets. it is very similar to boot camp or basic training, yet those challenges are mixed with regular college courses. it culminates into breakout which is a week long process (ressurection week) where the rats perform many challenging feats and are finally accepeted as cadets.
