Republic

1) an extremely rare system of government with a short lifecycle; directed and confined by const-tutional law protecting the rights of its citizenry, especially its minorities.

2) individuals get four votes – the ballot box, the jury box, the grand jury box, and the cartridge box. the ultimate check in the checks and balances of a responsible/accountable government is considered the individual; thereby the most important characteristic of a republican form of government is the individual.

3) its a shepherd called law protecting the sheep from the wolves. by stealth, the predatorily lazy wolves create an engineered crisis/emergency and by foolishness, fear, complacency, naivety, and/or by lack of understanding the importance of the shepherd, the humble hardworking sheep accept the wolves’ conclusion that killing the shepherd is necessary. well, guess what’s for dinner tomorrow night?

4) jeopardy answer: what is the wind beneath liberty’s wings of justice and peace?

bush supporter: we’re fighting them al keeblers to keep our democracy and give the world democracy too.
concerned friend: do you know that our founding fathers created a republican form of government, not a democracy.
bush supporter: same difference. democracy, republic, liberty. all the same. all are anit-islamo-fascism.
concerned friend: really? a democracy is a one-vote system as opposed to a republic, which is a four-vote system. four votes to check tyranny, not just one. the first vote is at the polls on election day when we pick those who are to represent us in the seats of government. but what can be done if those elected officials just don’t perform as promised or expected? – or follow the const-tution? in a democracy, the people have to wait until the next election cycle. under a republic, votes two-three-four are the most effective means by which the common people of any nation on earth have ever had in controlling those appointed to serve them well in government. the second vote comes when you serve on a grand jury. before anyone can be brought to trial for a capital or infamous crime by those acting in the name of government, permission must be obtained from people serving on the grand jury! the minneapolis star and tribune in the march 27th 1987 edition noted a purpose of the grand jury this way: “a grand jury’s purpose is to protect the public from an overzealous prosecutor.” the third is the most powerful vote; this is when you are acting as a jury member during a courtroom trial. at this point, “the buck stops” with you! it is in this setting that each juror has more power than the president, all of congress, and all of the judges combined! congress can legislate (make law), the president or some other bureaucrat can make an order or issue regulations, and judges may instruct or make a decision, but no juror can ever be punished for voting “not guilty!” any juror can, with impunity, choose to disregard the instructions of any judge or attorney in rendering his vote. if only one juror should vote “not guilty” for any reason, there is no conviction and no punishment at the end of the trial. thus, those acting in the name of government must come before the common man to get permission to enforce a law. if all else fails, i.e. elections are stolen, juries are bribed/threatened, we the people of a republic get a forth vote, we get to defensively vote from the rooftops against tyranny’s enforcers. (amended citizens rulebook)
bush supporter: well, why does bush, a republican, like to spread democracy all the time?
concerned friend: the same reason a wh-r- likes to spread her legs – easy money. spreading democracy is just a pc enunciation of filling the coffers of the military industrial complex by bombing the sh-t out of random brown skinned nations, just like spreading her legs is pc for f-cking the sh-t out of random people for cash.
bush supporter: so bush is a wh-r- of the military industrial complex?
concerned friend: yes. though more politely, a serial pitchman for murdering the innocent, i.e. iraqi babies.

representative form of government pioneered in greece but sophisticated in the roman republic. involves districts with populace voters who elect their representative officials. united states is a republic.
“this aint a democracy you idiot, its a republic”
a republic is an indirect form of government in which the people of a nation elect represenitives to make decisions. the first republic was that of ancient rome, up until julius cezar, than it became and empire.
the united states of america is the best living example of a republic, although (as all goverments are) it is rather corrupt.
ancient rome was the best republic ever.

the united states of america is a republican state, not a democracy.
not a democracy. a nation with elected leaders. could be a fascist dictatorship, left-wing utopia, or marxist-leninist socialism.
not all republics are “free.”
contrary to right-wing propaganda, a republic is indeed a form of representative democracy in which ordinary people elect officials to represent them in a legislature or parliament. simply put, a republic is the “what” and a democracy is the “how.” it’s been that way since the roman republic was established in 509 b.c.

the notion that democracy is a mob-rule involving direct citizen voting on every issue is a distortion spread by idiots like tom tancredo and radical ideologues like pat buchanan. they don’t like the term “democracy” because it reminds them of the democratic party.

the opposite of a republic is a monarchy, not a democracy.
“you know we have a republic, not a democracy, right?”

“you must be an intern at fox news.”
a system of government ran by ellected officials. not a rare system of government at all. republic by definition does not imply a concern for human rights or an inclusive democratic system. it just means that a governing body (aristocracy, military, general population, etc) ellected a head of state. republics are by no means rare and are not necsessarily short lived. in fact, of the almost 200 currently existing soverign states in the world currently, roughly half of them are republics. and the republic of san marino has had a life span of roughly 1700 years.
the united states of america, the people’s republic of china, etc.
a system in which the public “votes in” a few puppets to look like they’re running the government, who are actually put in by the 10 or so people that control everything people read or see on tv, and convince them they’re not being f-cked as hard as they feel.
we’re all taken care of in a republic! …except those guys..oh and them too…
