an automobile mechanic who incorrectly attempts to improve a poor running engine by repeatedly revving it up attempting to blow out carbon build up on the spark plugs, rather than performing a proper tune-up with new spark plugs.
anyone who revs up an automobile engine neutral gear over and over again with the hood up attempting to improve it attributes is know as rev-tuning an engine. a rev-tune is no subst-tute for a tune-up with new spark plugs.
