revivalism
(video game development definition)
the ideology that once a popular game is cancelled that hundreds of its followers scramble to attempt poorly made reboots or recreations, with few exceptions. errors include using scratch, changing the lore, and attempting to make a game too complex for the original developer at the time.
a waste of a fandom, if you ask me.
