Richard’s Rule
added to the code of conduct following the 2013 pycon conference, that n-body should shame anybody else publicly.
this was soon added to hr guidelines everywhere after adria richards publicly shamed two attendees on her twitter account during the conference after misunderstanding the words “forking” and “dongle” thinking they were s-xual references.
much privilege checking and hilarity ensued, until finally, adria richards was terminated from her position and her employer nearly went bankrupt.
this rule was added to prevent future instances of embarr-ssment with social justice warriors, and to let hr administrators deal with terminating privileged heteros-xual white cis-males quietly.
gotta watch what you say around here, the diversity and inclusion department just inst-tuted richard’s rule.
