Roomfriend

the name for members of the new girl (tv show) fandom.

the term “roomfriend” is first used by the character nick miller in the episode “quick hardening caulk” when asked by his boss/s-xual partner “who’s this?” in relation to jess. since nick and jess’ relationship is ill-defined, he calls her his “roomfriend.” (since they are roomates and friends but possibly more.)

the fans of new girl have since started to call each other “roomfriends.”
nick- “this is jess…she’s my…room? friend?”

new girl fan- “there’s a new promo tonight, roomfriends!” “two days until the premiere roomfriends!”
roomfriend or pernounced ‘rume-frend’ is the descriptive term for an ultra-rare happenstance that describes your ex who you or they have recently thrown in the towel on the relationship, but are still living together like nothing happened.
example 1 :

– “so who’s hot guy i keep seeing you with? are you two going out?”
– “nah, that’s my roomfriend.”

example 2 :

– “i heard your broke up with your girl, i’m so sorry dude. did she take all your stuff when she moved out?”
– “dude! she never moved out, but it’s not so bad; having a roomfriend has it’s benefits.”
