Samplegaze
a genre of music in which repet-tive samples are the primary musical element. the genre was perfected and popularized by panda bear’s ‘person pitch’ and animal collective’s ‘merriweather post pavillion’ alb-ms. it often sounds “wet”, trancelike, sometimes dreamy, and borrows elements of dub and idm.
the song “my girls” by animal collective is probably the best samplegaze song ever written.
