schadenessen
similar to schadenfreude (shameful joy or pleasure at another’s misfortune – german), schadenessen is shameful eating, or eating in an embarr-ssing way best kept hidden from view. also can mean guilty eating.
eating a messy sandwich out of public view to hide embarr-ssment is schadenessen, or eating take away (take-out) food in a restaurant car park (parking lot) is schadenessen.
i’m off to commit some schadenessen in the vestibule…
