scripps is a liberal arts college for women located in claremont, california. it was founded by ellen browning scripps in 1926. it is a member of the claremont colleges, which also includes claremont mckenna, harvey mudd, pitzer, and pomona.
scripps is one of the only inst-tutions of higher learning for women on the west coast.
