the awkward goodbye that occurs when you’ve already said goodbye to someone but circ-mstances dictate a second goodbye, often accompanied with an awkward hug or handshake

person #1: goodbye! i’ll see you in a week!
person #2: okay, bye! have fun!

person #2: all right, see you later. maybe this is the last goodbye.
