Seven Bloody Hells
“seven bl–dy h-lls” (or, alternately, “seven h-lls”) is a term created by george r. r. martin in his famous book series “a song of ice and fire”, of which the first book is the well-known “game of thrones.”
the term originates from one of the key theologies in the book, the seven, of which there are seven deities, with seven heavens, and, therefore seven h-lls.
the term is often used as an expression of anger, anguish, or surprise, but it not limited to these emotions.
this term should be considered akin to the word “f-ck” in its usage, however, it is usually used by a higher-cl-ss person, such as the royalty in the book.
jon: “seven bl–dy h-lls, it’s cold.” (neutral)
robb: “seven h-lls! where did they come from?” (surprise)
robert: “seven bl–dy h-lls, ned, i want to hit something!” (anger)
catelyn: “seven h-lls! why can’t you see that this won’t solve anything?” (anguish)
cersei: “seven h-lls, jamie, why won’t you ever think?” (anger)
