when one party in a text-message conversation chooses to reply with extremely short, vague sentences in order to try and kill the conversation and end communication with the opposing texter.
an example of short-texting:
texter1: hey omg so you totally looked really hot today at the mall hahaha
texter2: ya.
texter1: omg so anyways do you like the band coldplay?
texter2: no.
texter1: oh okay thats okay so whats up?
texter2: nothing.
texter1:…
texter1 has just been short-texted.
