sideline parent


a parent who likes to tell a child what he or she should do but is not directly involved in their everyday lives or only on occasion. the “parent” only watches and observes said child from the “side” or “sideline” but are not directly involved in their everyday life or activities.
my dad always tells me what to do and judges me without even knowing the circ-mstance or my day-to-day life. he’s a sideline parent.

my mom always -ssumes that im doing something wrong when she doesn’t even know me or what i do everyday. what a sideline parent..
