this is the ambivalent cousin of sl-t shaming. sl-t pitying occurs when people -ssume that a sl-t is only a sl-t because of insecurity, conforming to s-xist standards, daddy issues, and the like. sl-t pity -ssumes that a sl-t isn’t a sl-t out of personal choice, personal discovery, or self-empowerment. sl-t pity is generally a knee-jerk reaction and often comes from good intentions, though sometimes not.
person 1: trisha sleeps around a lot, she must be insecure.
person 2: that’s sl-t pity, which is quite judgmental. maybe she just likes having a good time and is totally fine with herself.
