soak update
when a manufacturer releases the beta update for a short period of time then removes the option for more beta testers. they “soak” up as many testers as they can in that period of time… then remove the update.
motorola released a soak update for beta version of their 1.6.1 software for the motorola cliq then removed the update from the site.
