an individual whose drinking occurs only during social gatherings or for social ends.
i am a socialcoholic, because the only time i drink is during social events eg the super bowl.
socialcoholic = someone who only drinks at social events or in order to socialize with other people, preferably members of the opposite s-x.
jason is a socialcoholic because he would only drink when he is around his buddies. he never drinks by himself.
