a style of facial hair. similar in appearance to that of the mutton chops. the sideburns extend down to the chin, almost to form a full beard, then a thin strip is then carefully shaved down the -sscrack of the chin. the addition of a mustache is strictly prohibited while sporting the southern philanthropist.
