also; karl urban as dr. leonard “bones” mccoy, leonard nimoy as spock prime, zoe saldana as nyota uhura, john cho as hikaru sulu, anton yelchin as pavel chekov and simon pegg as montgomery “scotty” scott.
abrams put a time-travel storyline in so he could mix sh-t up abit and not have to be tied down to the already established canon details.
