an -ssignment, or a number of -ssignments given out for particular subjects. these particular -ssignments are so hard, so vauge and so irrelevant to subject matter, that one attempting to accomplish such an task will probably commit suicide by the end.
student 1: hey man, how are you?
student 2: im sh-t, i was whacked with 3 su-ssignments today. one for english, one for ancient and one for physics. kill me
student 1: oh unlucky, thats bad news.
