first referenced in kanye west’s song ‘good life,’ summertimechi is what chicagoans live for. the weather is brutal in chicago for 9 months. but for june, july and august, everyone comes out of hibernation to go crazy at chicago’s many beaches, bar crawls on land (and by rooftop), music, art and food festivals nearly every single day, and the hormone-infused nightlife the spans from the house parties on the south side, to the lounges of the south loop, to clubs of river north, and the collective sh-tstorm of bars running from wrigleyville through lincoln park. summertimechi isn’t a season, it’s magic.
no need to go out in the winter. no one’s interested. might as well save money for summertimechi when the action really hits.
