when in television, a show is sold to independant television stations, varying from city to city. either that, or when a show can be seen on one network in one city, but another network in another city.
family feud used to be on wcau-tv (cbs10, before 1995, when cbs and nbc switched from wcau now nbc10 and kyw now cbs3), then when it went syndicated in 1999, it was on then-independant wgtw-tv (channel 48), and now it is on wfmz-tv (channel 69).
millioniare (philbin) used to be on wpvi-tv (abc6); now, millionaire (viera) used to be on kyw-tv (cbs3), now it’s back on wpvi-tv. however, in chicago, it’s probably on their nbc station or something.
