the word originated from a game of scrabble played in san diego by three math graduate students named v-g-n-, p-b-s, and l-b–. p-b-s asked for permission to put down the word tarts-xie (s-xy with an i.e.) and v-g-n- and l-b– allowed it, because i mean, come on! if it’s not a word, then it should be made into one on account that it’s so awesome. awesomely tarts-xie that is 😉
