Tasksplosion
the unexpected and natural process whereby a simple, single task requires you to complete a whole set of tasks, some of them unrelated to the one at hand.
sometimes stupid things lead to a tasksplosion. i realized we were out of garbage bags, so i went to the bas-m-nt to get some. there weren’t any, so i have to go to the grocery store. but to do that, i’ll have to 1) gas up the car, 2) go to the atm and get money so i can pay for the gas, 3) go to the grocery store and buy the bags and finally go home. but the garbage can is really filthy so i have to clean it first. oops we’re out of cleaning products and paper towels… another tasksplosion!
