a friend of a significant other that they spend time with as friends (i.e. get tea, etc), but you know they’ve hooked up.
guy 1: hey, where’s your girlfriend tonight?
guy 2: she’s out with her tea friend….
guy 1: oh no! do you think anything is going on?
guy 2: it’s probably ok, they stopped hooking up a year before we started dating.
