technocrack
a piece of technology that fully consumes someone’s attention to the exclusion of most, if not all, other matters. usually it involves some incredibly new or much-coveted device with complicated instructions and/or really cool and modern features. in other words, an extremely addictive and prohibitavely expensive little gadget. (note: can be used as noun or adjective).
adjective: i broke up with my boyfriend because he cares so much about his technocrack telephone and how it works that he never actually calls me on it.
noun: the latest mp3 device is such technocrack that all i want to do is download stuff to it and play it as loud as i want to for as long as i want to.
