the flood of text messages received when you first turn your phone on after it has been off for a long time, or when you finally get a signal. the longer the phone was off, and the more popular you are, the bigger the textalanche is.
coming home from my weekend ski trip in the mountains, as soon as i was on the highway and had service, i got a textalanche.

i was really excited when i got a textalanche this morning, thinking that my friends wanted to hang out, but instead it was just my mom asking me where i was.
