the ends justify the means
the ends justify the means is a morally bankrupt core belief that rationalizes unethical and immoral behavior because the end goal is the focus and anything done to achieve that goal is considered acceptable.
if a person believes the ends justify the means, then all they need to do is deem their goal as being n-ble and therefore justifiable, and any positive outcome that achieves that goal excuses any wrongs committed to attain the goal.
president richard nixon’s watergate scandal is a perfect example of “the ends justify the means” mentality.
