The Great Gig In The Sky
“the great gig in the sky” is the fifth track on pink floyds h-t alb-m, “the dark side of the moon”. the song starts out with richard wright saying,” and i am not frightened of dying. any time will do, i don’t mind. why should i be frightened of dying? there’s no reason for it – you’ve got to go sometime.” this is accompanied by clare torry’s “wailing” which add much emotion and heart to the song. the song fades with a very glum but moving piano chord which is mixed with clare torry’s wailing dying off. the song is underrated due to the fact that pink floyds biggest hits included guitar riffs, lyrics and solos. nonetheless, the great gig in the sky is a very emotional and mind provoking piece of work and i definitely recommend listening to it.
