The Jinks Effect
1) meteorological (most common -ssociation):
extremely severe and inclement weather. in particular, when bad weather comes as a surprise following an optimisitc forecast.
2) a person or thing that is believed to bring bad luck (jinks or jinx)
3) a condition or period of bad luck that appears to have been caused by a specific person or thing.
the sudden and surprising change in weather that resulted in the tsunami is thought to have been caused by the jinks effect.
